In “Art+Food+Next Generation: Shaping Futures Through Creative Engagement,” authors Stahl Stenslie and Zane Cerpina provide an overview of the collaborative project between Vitenparken Campus Ås and the Rucka Art Foundation. This initiative, which spanned from October 2022 to November 2023, aimed to leverage art and food as mediums for young people aged 10 to 18 to engage with global socio-political and environmental challanges. The book details the project’s activities, which reached over 700 participants mainly from Latvia, focusing on its goals to use creativity as a tool for navigating the complexities of climate change and geopolitical instability.

The narrative outlines the interdisciplinary collaboration that characterized the project, involving artists, chefs, and experts from Norway and Latvia in fields ranging from visual arts to environmental sciences. It describes how the project engaged youth as co-creators, involving them in a variety of activities like online workshops, onsite artistic experiments and a DIY project. The book aims to provide a factual account of the project’s execution and its emphasis on creativity, and youth empowerment, reflecting on its outcomes and the experiences of participants.
